Great news! Spook (Charoite Raven's Brew) won his third CC at City of Birmingham Championship show under Ali Koops (Forstal). This makes him (subject to KC confirmation) a Champion.

After winning the Gold Medal in the 8 Dog class at the BSSF British Championship race in March, Kev and the gang have been selected to be part of the British team for the forthcoming IFSS European Championships. These are to be held in November, in the UK.

Our dogs occasionally do their thing in the show ring. This has been a great few weeks. Rogue, Hexie and Spook went to Birmingham National Championship Dog Show under breed judge Sharon Sargent. Rogue and Hexie both won their Stud Book numbers with a 1st in Limit and 2nd in Open. This was only Rogue's 3rd ever show! Spook won limit and went on to be awarded the RCC. This is what the judge had to say about them:

"This boy has one of the best fronts you could wish for with ideal angulation & length of shoulder & upper arm, he has a firm level topline, the desired arch over the loin & slope to croup. Ideal size, outline & proportions, exceptionally well muscled & athletic. Gave his handler a bit of a hard time but once he settled on the move he had the most wonderful effortless stride. RCC"

"Charoite Ghost Rider with Mystic Energy, gr/w, brown eyes, didn’t want to put her ears up very much but they are well set when she does put them up, good expression, almond shaped eyes, super front, level topline, she gives the impression of great athleticism. Excellent muscletone, moved freely & easily with the right amount of reach & drive"

"Charoite Cherry Kamma, dark gr/w, brown eyes, another very athletic girl with excellent muscle, at the rangy end of the Standard & lack of coat made her look all the more rangy – but nothing wrong with that. Super angulation & she moves with the most fabulous stride keeping her topline level & demonstrating the required effortlessness"

This was followed to a trip to an open show for Spook under breed judge Jenna Cooper. Jenna had a lovely entry and I was thrilled to bits as Spook won his class then went Best of Breed. He also managed a 4th place in the Working Group.

The icing on cake came lasts Friday. Breed judge Judy Wakker had an entry of 77 dogs at Three Counties Championship Show. Not only did Spook win his class but he was awarded the Dog CC (his 2nd) and went on to win BoB! Thrilled to bits!

Border Force was very vocal when I returned home from a trip to a dog show at the weekend. I didn’t actually take any of my own dogs but showed a couple of girls and some boys (How very dare you? Border Force would want to know later that afternoon) for a slightly incapacitated friend.
